Harvest of the Month

The Sheboygan Area School District and Plymouth School District have collaborated to offer "Harvest of the Month" to students.  Each month, a fruit or vegetable will be featured on both SASD and Plymouth school menus.  The featured item will be purchased as local as possible.  When possible, each district will provide information about the farm where the item was harvested from. The item will be served raw, cooked with added seasonings, or incorporated into a new recipe for students to try. 

Newsletters with nutritional information, fun facts, recipes and more are available for each harvest of the month item.  Teachers will receive an educator tailored newsletter that provides activities that can be done with students right in the classroom.  The purpose of harvest of the month is to introduce local foods to students and encourage lifetime healthy eating habits.
