Compassionate Parents

When: October 9 2017
Time: 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Where: Open Door

Compassionate Parents is a peer-lead grief support group for bereaved parents. The meetings are held the second Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. Please join us if you are in need of support.

Directions
NEW MEETING LOCATION: We are now meeting at Mental Health America in Sheboygan County's new program site called Open Door. The address is 817 N. 8th Street. The easiest directions to share are: Park in the public city parking lot #14 across from/south of the GrandStay Hotel (off of Niagara Street, turn left onto Niagara if you are coming down 8th Street) also known to some as the old Younkers back parking lot. The entrance is located in the alley way (behind Patty' s Hair Care and the building across from The Black Pig). We are the first door on your left if you are coming from the back public parking lot #14. There will be signs posted. Call us if you are having trouble. It is a great space that is comforting and inviting.

Peer led support groups are available to those who could benefit. There is no charge to participate. For additional information, contact MHA at 458-3951 or email info@mhasheboygan.org.

Community Dinner

When: October 18 2017
Time: 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Where: Nourish

Nourish will be hosting monthly community dinners in 2017. Each event feature a 3-course meal and activity, guest speaker, or theme. Nourish will provide a cooking demonstration or teaching moment at each event along with recipes for guest to take home.

6:00 pm Welcome and Appetizers
6:30 pm Dinner served

Limited capacity! Sign up today! Dinners are $20 for adults, $10 for children 12 years old and younger, and free for children 5 years old and younger.

Scouting for Food

When: October 21 2017
Time: 8:00 am - 1:00 pm
Where: Sheboygan County Food Bank

Help Local Boys Scouts collect non-perishable food items in the bags they distribute throughout Sheboygan on 10/14/17. All items will go to Sheboygan County Food Bank. Please make sure the food is healthful and not expired!scouting for food logo

Enchanted Forest

When: October 21 2017
Time: 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Where: Camp Riversite

Attend Sheboygan 4-H’s “unscary” alternative for Halloween! Sheboygan County 4-H transforms the grounds of Camp Riversite into an Enchanted Forest. Admission is a non-perishable food item for Sheboygan County Food Bank. Activities include short skits by local 4-H clubs, games, hay rides, a petting zoo, a bake sale, and a scarecrow contest. Costumes are encouraged.

Suicide Loss Support Group

When: October 30 2017
Time: 7:00 pm - 8:15 pm
Where: Mental Health America

You are not alone. Please join us.

Suicide Loss Support Group is a peer-facilitated support group for those who have lost a loved one to suicide.

This group meets the last Monday of each month at MHA's main office (915 N. 7th Street, Sheboygan WI 53081).

Join to share, listen, or simply be among others who understand your feelings and have shared a common tragedy. There are no judgments. This group is on-going. RSVP not necessary.

Making Spirits Bright Holiday Lights Display

When: November 24 2017 - December 31 2017
Time: 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Where: Evergreen Park and Quarryview Center

Enjoy the 6th annual holiday lights display in Evergreen Park run by three Rotary clubs of Sheboygan County. The Quarryview Center, across from Evergreen Park, features entertainment such as visits with Santa, raffles, concessions, and trolley rides.

Admission to the park is free of charge. However, food donations for the Sheboygan County Food Bank are highly encouraged. Cash donations, collected in the park, are used for repair and enhancements of the lights display and/or distributed through a grant process to other local not-for-profits, like the Sheboygan County Food Bank. Please make sure the food is healthful and not expired!

The event will be closed on Sunday, December 24th for Christmas Eve.
